Remove Shortcut Virus From Pen drive/Memory Card Simply Without Antivirus

Suddenly all the folders in your pen drive become shortcut as shown in the picture beside and as you going to open those folders  Windows is showing an error that “Shortcut missing…!”.


This problem may cause not only in pen drives but also in memory sticks, phone memories, external hard disks etc due to virus affection. 


But no need to afraid for this and format your drive if you want to recover your important data again.

Just follow the simple steps to remove that shortcuts and retrieve your folders back.

1. Insert your virus affected drive to the computer.

2. Open command prompt as administrator.

3. In the opened command prompt, go to your drive by entering your drive letter as shown in the  below figure - 2 . For example, if your drive letter is L enter L:  and press Enter. (To find your drive letter just open “My Computer” and check your drive icon)

 4. Now type the command :  del *.lnk and press Enter.

 5. Finally type the command : attrib -s -r -h *.* /s /d /l and Press Enter.

NOTE: This will recover all the folders, but it will not completely remove all the virus, so you  must scan the drive with an antivirus.
